Hi
I have one of these small tractor/mowers with a 12 HP B&S and a 38" deck and it has been performing well since I bought it new in 1988 (whew I didn't think it was that old). Our neighbour's son has been using it the past couple of years to cut our lawn (about an acre) and in the past few weeks has noticed what feels like a "miss" or "hesitation" in the hydrostatic transmission when he goes from forward to reverse.. I tried it last night and, while it doesn't happen every time, there is definately someting going on. I couldn't see any evidence of anything (like the mower deck) catching but that was the feel when I tried to back up.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I might check on this unit before calling in the high priced help?
Thanks
Bob
