Are different width mowers interchangeable?

ha ha, i'm getting mountain side mowing tips from flatland! that's awesome.

i had a suspicion about what you are saying being true, just not enough to pull the trigger on a 3PH mower. i probably will get one though, seems it'll be easy to pick up a used one.

though it's not really "bumps", more like a few steep grade changes, like shelves for a lack of better way of putting it. i guess i just raise the 3ph at those grades. with the MMM the rear wheels do it for you. i've never really used a 3ph mower except on flat land so i don't really know how they work on this stuff.

The 3pt rotary cutter will do a better job of trail mowing, especially if it get's away from you and is in the 12" or taller range. The B7100 will pull a lighter duty 4ft brush cutter reasonably well. For hillsides and steeper grades I would recommend some front weights for ballast as my 7100 tended to get pretty light in the front when mowing up hills with the rear mounted mower of 450lbs.

this is impossible to mow front first, there is no question whether or not it would flip. this is an extremely steep mountain side and i go backwards up it to mow.

thanks for the feedback. i will probably get a rear mower anyway for the flat fields so i can try it out and learn how it works/feels. if there's something awkward about it, then i'll get the MMM. so you fellows saved me from buying another MMM i don't need, at least for now, probably forever.
