i just bought my first tractor in march, after shopping for about 2 yrs, looking anyway. i found in my area pretty much everything was priced within $1000 of each other when comparing apples to apples. some had extra features, some were heavier, and some dealers threw in free impliments, well one did anyway. i ended up with a mahindra 4500 2wd, w/fel . it was the best deal i could find at the time.

tracdoc,

Very interesting. I gave up on the search for an "all American made" product some time ago. It is nice to know that such a company does exist. I really like their all-in-one concept.

I was looking a JD and several others - wound up with a Kubota because the dealer gave me a great deal and the JD guy wouldn't cut much slack off the list price (we've also heard horror stories about the local dealers service dept.) I would have gone with the Deere if the price had been right but the Kubota shop has a great reputation that has, so far, turned out to be true.
I would have prefered to buy American.

The majority of the Case New Hollands are made in Racine Wisconsin. Yes some of the parts and imported in but the machines are all put together in Racine. When I was at my dealers a few weeks ago buying my tiller I asked my dealer how much of the Boomers are made in the USA. He told me the only thing that is imported on the Boomers is the motor which is made by Shibura. He told me everything else comes from within the USA. Well this comes from a salesman. But even a poster above said John Deere. John Deeres larger tractors are made in the US but the compact are not from my understanding.

Now all of the above is hearsay. I have no proof but only what I was told. I did not read any of the information anyplace but again hearsay.

I can not think of any model of New Holland tractor that is built in Racine. The compacts are built in Georgia if I remember correctly. The TG"s, TJ"s and TV"s are built in Fargo North Dakota. TM"s, TS"s TN"S are built in Italy and England.

My TYM T474 was built in Caldwell, Texas. Although from Korean parts I'm sure.

Boomers haven't been made by Shibaura for a long time. And they made the entire tractor not just the engine. Boomers are made by LS now. The only thing from the US as far as I know are the tires.

I’ve walked the factories here not too long ago when I bought mine... they gave an invite to visit. Yes maybe costs are high here but everything’s already built. And quality is high
