"In todays world where lawyers rule, the days of inflated HP numbers and optimistic gallons per hour use are long gone."

What does this mean??? They have had the Nebraska tests forever.

It means I think by one way or another they "de-tune" for lack of a better term the machines. I think that every machine out there will lift more then sec, push more, climb more hill....but the second some lawyer gets ahold of that and says hang on just a sec....lets move that down 200lbs it could save us millions in suits you know it happens.

My old JD 300 lawn mower will just mow in reverse, new ones you have some kind of over ride. Cars are now going to come standard with rear view cameras....because people are too &*$(*&# stupid to look behind them and they run over their kids. First thing the do....sue JD for running over their kid with the mower running.

Ridiculous theory, with completely flawed logic. They don't list specs for how much a tractor can push, or how steep of a hill it can climb, so those two are out. If things were driven by lawyers, they wouldn't make a machine that can lift more than the listed specs, they'd make the machine lift less by turning down the hydraulic pressure, so you would be less likely to make a mistake that would roll it. That would also make for less wear and tear, and fewer warranty claims, so it's a win-win situation for the company.

A policy of intentionally publishing lower specs would also be terrible from a marketing perspective, and with the Internet, they know people do a lot of research.
