I have a new Arctic CAT 250 it is 2 wheel drive utility ATV, 2008 model. I like the ATV.

One issue, I think it the transmission shifts hard. It has an automatic transmission. Sometimes when I shift from neutral to reverse or neutral to forward high there is a loud clunk and jerk as when the applying gas. Sometimes the shifter does not go into forward low unless I engage forward high first and then good to forward low.

Anyone have a similar experience with their ATV. Can this be adjusted?

I have the 07 model, and I had the same issue. Alot of it is it needs to break in for a while, but I did end up having to have the linkage adjusted as it did not fully engage at times when shifted into high or low. One thing to do is when you put it into gear EASE into the throttel so it does not slame into gear, remember it is an automatic so you cant ease the cluch out. Enjoy it, they are very capable for the size and the price (at least mine was) very reasonable.
