Kubota B7100
I was curious if anyone could tell me the approximate weight of a 4' box blade? I have a Kubota B7100 and would love to have a 4' BB to work with but am not sure it will handle the weight. Thanks for the info.

When I was shopping for a BB for my B7100 I found them to be between 250 and 350 lbs.
All other things being equal, I bought the heaviest one I found. My logic was that as long as it did not exceed the 400 lb limit of my THP, heavier is better.
I have since modified the BB for grading, it now weighs over 450 lbs and the tractor has no problem lifting it.

Great! So your B7100 works fine with a 4' BB? My neighbor tried to tell me the tractor was too small to use a BB.

Also, what brand BB do you have?

Thanks for all the info.

It's a Walco. Not a high end unit by any means but it was affordable and works well as far as I can tell.
From their web site;
"Box Scrappers

The box scraper features two cutting edges for both pushing and pulling. Adjustable scarifier shanks loosen the surface to ensure an even and consistent finished surface. The cutting edges are made of high carbon steel and the scarifiers are forged and heat treated.

How much are you guys paying for the 4' box blades? There is a KingKutter on my local Craigslist and I am wondering if it is a good price (asking $300).

The one at Tractor Supply goes for $500 new. I am looking for a used one and would probably jump on a $300 if it was in good condition.

I paid $400 CND in November 06
Ask the Craigs list guy what the lowest he will take is. Then buy it.

The 4ft KK XB box blade is $399.99 around here. CHeck the website.

I got a 5' blade from the local JD dealer for my 4010. It's VERY light. I'd be surprised if it weighs much more than 100 #; it slides ever so easily on some boards I set it down on. It's good enough to push or pull snow. It was only $250. It's a Frontier RB1060L.

I'd think that your B7100 could handle 400#. My LX-4 is 400#. Think the 3ph hitch on my 4010 will do up to around 1,000#.
