I'm sure this has been discussed here, but I'm just wondering if anyone is using one and if so what brand and are you happy with it?

A three piont hitch leaf blower....it runs off the PTO... I have the bagger but can't stand dumping every 3 minuets. I also don't feel like buying something with another engine to service, so that is why I am shying away from purchasing a walk behind blower. I would think a three point hitch one would require very little attention.

i have been thinking to make one from a little wonder blower with a bad engine. b/c as well i don't want to maintain an extra engine. i tried to use my kubota bagger as a blower by removing the housing bolts and turning it. it is not a high velocity blower : (

I live on the edge of a woods. I just drop my mower a litter lower on my BX 24 and circle the house counter clockwise. Seems to do a good enough job for me. I tried a hand held leaf blower once and it wasn't worth the trouble.

Take Care,

Never thought of that approach. Up here in the NW dropping leaves are accompanied by steady rains. They are soaked before they hit the ground. Wet do not blow easily. As they start I try to pick them up before they get too deep with my lawn sweeper behind the rider mower. We have too many odd angles, planting beds, and trees in the acre of lawn to make it feasible to run the BX around as also when the rain starts the tractor tears up tears up the grass some as I have AG tires. If I fill the hopper with wet leaves I cannot lift it to dump w/o help. It does pick them up good and I maintain the mower anyway so not adding another engine to the motor pool. Works real good after a good freeze and pick them up frozen. Other areas let them fall and rake up in the spring after a week w/o rain. They all go on the compost heap.

I did see a leaf vaccum at the auction today but again another engine to the mix. It was impressive, on wheels has a big hopper a slot on the bottom that can be closed and a 12' 5" hose w/m nozzel for getting into plantings and close to things. Somebody paid $400 for it. It could probably be adapted to a 3PT hitch and PTO easily, did not think of that at the time.

Problem is that if it's powered by a small engine, it's geared for 3600 shaft RPM. You'd have to rig a gear box in between to get 540 up to 3600.

400 ??? Great price. Used I've seen them for 1200 to 1400. Wish i could find one for 400. Depending on size new they are 1800 to 3000.
