Anyone try to buy a trailer lately?

My trailer that I bought in December has increased in value by over $3500 just because of the lumber on the deck!

Plenty of trailers here to choose from. The lots are full.

The dealerships that sell ford and GM are just about empty though, due to the microchip fiasco.

I just redid a 70" x 14.5' deck with 2x for $285 out the door through Lowes.

Your lucky. I live where most of the lumber is harvested and milled and sent to the States and an 8 foot 2x4 is over $9.00 here.

Standard building use sizes are crazy here as well. I had to get creative with ground contact pressure treated 2x10's and 2x8's which where comparatively cheaper at 16' lengths than any other sizes.

Ran into the same issue when I was looking to purchase a 10K. Took two and a half months until the trailer was available. Manufactures are way behind.

Generac probably sold out because everyone has been scared to death the world is going to end.
I think trailers are suffering from reduced production from supply chain issues and labor shortages. In some states employees can make more money staying home than working for small businesses building trailers.

I recently sold a 5x10 utility trailer I had. Trailer was 12 years old, deck needed replaced ($$$ right now with lumber prices) and needed rewiring and lights. Put it up for $500. I had 143 messages within 2 hours, I counted them. I got exactly $500 for it too, didn’t even try to talk me down. Matter of fact the guy that bought it said “what time do you go to work in the morning, I’ll be there an hour before you leave” and he was.
