I saw it tonight! It was quite the sight, moving real quick and real bright across the sky. It was a clear night tonight, especially dark out here in the boonies, and it took 4 minutes to cross the entire sky. The space shuttle was supposed to be visible too at a lesser intensity but I didn't see it, will have another look tomorrow night. The Space Station went from WSW to NE about 1/3 the way up from the horizon. Very, very neat! Here's a link to the NASA site where you can check to see when it's available and visible from your area. Human Space Flight (HSF) - Realtime Data :):)

I saw it quite coincidentally the other morning. I walked out to get the paper and the front page had an article about it. Got back in the house and saw the time. I was one minute away! Walked back out and there it was. Pretty cool. They say you can make out the shape with binoculars and a low power telescope would have shown the shuttle docked (not anymore).

Very cool.

Something about space flight puts it all in perspective to me. Sort of the ultimate in engineering. Kind of makes us humans and our conflicts insignificant. Theres so much out there that we havent even begun to understand.

I was just reading, where NASA was saying that there likely wont be enough funds for a return to the moon.

I hope the money's found (and this is just a threat by NASA). The moon can be our launchpad to Mars and beyond. We humans need to explore and visit and populate the nearby planets. No sense having all our eggs in one basket (planet):D

Imagine a vacation to the Moon or mars (total recall anyone?). Funny thing is i can see a company like Virgin colonizing the moon before NASA

I am big fan of the space program, too bad it is treading water these days. Forty years ago we were on the moon, and now we're not, but rather doing insect experiments in low orbit.

A few years ago I saw the shuttle during re-entry going west to east in the southern sky. Man it was fast, a fireball with a tail. When I lost sight of it to the east I immediately went into the house and watched it land in Florida (I'm in north Texas).

I am interested in astronomy and one of the boards I visit had pics of the space station in front of the sun, taken by an amateur with a telescope really no better than my own. It was small, but you could make it out.

Got to see the space station and shuttle, but here it was a two minute sighting. Here in Arizona with the clear skies satellites can be seen easily.
Thanks for the great sites.

with a decent pair of binocs you can clearly make out the H pattern of the station.

it has really increased in intensity sence they added the last set of solar pannels and have them all orented in the right spot now.

Yes, I saw it several times last week. Pretty neat. :)
