Hi:

Deere just announced 0% for 60 months so as always it's got me thinking about upgrading my 3720cab to a 4720 cab (not sure, just thinking).

If I do I always think about trying the 'super turf' golf R3's but wouldn't if I couldn't run a loader with them.

Does anyone run them with a loader (The weight capacity seems up to par)?
How durable are they? Any other disadvantages? I already know you can't run a MMM
with them - I run an 84" RFM.

I've run R4's and R3's (now running R3's on my 3720 cab) and have though about the golfs to further reduce ground compression. How are they in the snow (The regular R3's are actually BETTER than R4's in hard packed snow/ice believe it or not).

My thought is that if you are currently running R3s' then your guess is better than most of us.

I just got a 4520 8/01 and love it. I ordered the R-4's and then put the R-3's on the 4520 rims. I had the Galaxy Mighty Mow R-3's(10-16.5 fronts and 17.5L-24 rears) on my 990 and made the swap when the new one came in. The Galaxy's have the same load rating as the R-4's, but are pricey. I am on the turf a lot and they are great in the winter also. If you could swap out, barter, trade and can get over the cost upgrade I would recommend the Galaxy's. If you want pictures let me know. I also did about 25 hours worth of loader work with no problem after a recent storm and would never look back. As far as I know Galaxy makes the only direct size swap mentioned above. Firestone make a swap to a lo-pro turf but the load ratings lighten up substantially. Hope this helps.

So you are running the special R3's now? I'm running Galaxy (Normal/6pr) R3's right now but they aren't the golf tires. If they are the Golf R3's what pressure did you run for loader work (10psi?). They are pricey also (Over a grand over the normal R3's).

Thanks.

The Galaxy's I have are actually listed to run 45 psi in the fronts and 26 psi in the rears. I run 30 in the fronts(8 ply) and 20 in the back. They are listed under the skidsteer/industrial section on their website. They are not the golf special R-3's.

Those sound like exactly the R3's I have (45 front/26 rear). They work well. I'm curious if anyone runs the special R3's which are huge and run only 5psi normally. :)

Hey,

I run the galaxy R-3's on my 4110 and it has a front end loader and a MMM. I have never had any trouble with it, and it has moved a bunch of dirt in the past 5 years. When the tractor is locked in 4 wheel drive, it will not stop going into the pile, it has plenty of traction.

I don't know if this is what you need or not,

If he doesn't respond to your post, drop a line to "NURU" I believe he has the turf specials, but don't know how much FEL work he does.

I just have the regular R3's one mine. Don't do a lot of FEL work with dirt - more with snow. For me, I'm happy with my choice.
