I'm thinking of removing the backhoe from my RK24 to use some of my 3pt attachments. Anyone done it yet. Wondering what's involved to take off and put back on. Time involved? 15 minutes 1 hour 2 hour? How stable the hoe is while removed. I just heard the new RK24s will have a quick attach front bucket starting approx. January 2019.

Very interested in this too. Trying to learn all I can before purchasing an RK24 next year. Need a backhoe but will need to use a brush hog quite often too.

This probably won't help, but on the RK55 there are just 2 pins to pull then pull forward and disconnect the hydraulic hoses. That's it! Takes all of 10 minutes (or less if I did it more often). I use a lot of other 3pt attachments as well, so being able to take it off and on quickly is important. I can't imagine the RK24 being more difficult, but I don't have one and maybe it's set up differently?

^^ That's the way it is on my LS. On the issue of leaving it separated, I find it will slump over a few hours without hydraulic pressure so I had to cut a wood block to set under the main body.

I saw one yesterday that had quick attach bucket I assume. It had the 2 handles attached to the back of it.

I saw the quick attach (QA) front bucket on an RK37 too. I was told that the QA has always been standard on the 37. Today I asked Rural King about converting my RK24 to QA and was told not possible. The only way to get the QA was to buy a complete FEL and bucket for $2,299. The new 24s are coming with the QA standard equipment. 3rd party, EA, is about $900 + bucket with QA plate. I'm thinking a back plate could be fabricated for my bucket. Rural King told me if I did a conversion it would probably void my warranty. If Rural King had told me about all this 2 months ago when I purchased mine I would have waited.

They also called a guy that had bought a rk24 and asked if I could call him to get his feedback on his purchase. He agreed.

I called him and he said it was a strong tractor. Actually more power than the weight it had.

He said he has worked it hard in his landscaping business and he was very pleased.

But, after 26 hrs he noticed a small leak coming from somewhere under the rear. Has not investigated it yet.

He said he would buy again.

Does it use 1inch pins? You could do a blank back and modify it for your tractor.
If it is a pin on you could do a compact universal.

Keep your eye on these guys, I bought mine for my Massey for $600 and love it..

I take my backhoe off and put it back on all the time on the 37. As stated above it’s 2 pins and two quick disconnect hoses. Super easy and gets easier the more you do it.
