Would like to hard wire a battery jump start plug to my truck grille so I can jump start dead batteries a little easier.
Anyone have such a set up they can recommend?

I havent done it, but if I was going to do it, I would use Anderson Powerpoles, with a littl No-ox-id smeared on the connector. Anderson powerpoles are self cleaning and very rugged connectors. They are often used in industry. As an example they are often used in lift trucks. I use the little ones for all of my Amateur Radio 12 volt connections.

I have put a few in and have a set-up in my service van since 1990... the only downside is having another battery to replace when it's time.

I mounted a second battery in a heavy duty boat battery box next to the spare tire inside my van and made up batter cables to reach.

The rest involved a battery isolator to charge the second battery and adding a second Ford type starter solenoid wired to a switch on the dash... the solenoid I bought is rated for continuous duty.

Since 1990 I have run a Statpower inverter that is large enough to power my small compressor and all of my power tools except it doesn't like my worm drive skill saw.

The inverter runs off the second battery or I can flip the switch to link both batteries and if I need more power... I can also start the engine...

After a couple of years I upgraded my alternator to 130 amp when I had the chance...

Friends owned Ford Pickups... they were gas models with room under the hood for a second battery if the truck had been diesel powered... on these, I just ordered the OEM second battery box...

I bought 6 of those plugs in that link post above , a spool of 4 gauge wire ??? ( maybe 2 gauge or bigger , been awhile since I did this project , it is big stuff though , bigger than any store bought cables ) . On one end of cable , I placed a brass battery style bolt hole lug in vise and filled with melted solder and shoved wire in . other end got the same treatment , but with lug from inside plug . This wire runs from my battery in engine compartment all the way back to receiver hitch at rear were the plug is mounted . It will run my jumper cables or also a Harbor Freight 2000 lb. winch which is mounted to Our game hoist for Elk Hunting . Makes it nice when giving somebody or something a jump start , in that I don't have to turn around , Simply pull over in front of them and back up . It has caught some people by surprise , Stop , See if I can help , They need a jump start and they have this Bewildered look on their face when I back up within about 6' of the front of their vehicle .:D
Spool of wire and plugs ( Bought both on Ebay ) totaled some were around $100 which is half the cost of a kit . Customized to my criteria .

I also installed commercial jumper cable with quick connect on my service truck... sure makes it nice not having to open the hood.
