This steel would be great for making knives, chisels, shaper or planer blades.

Blank measures 25cm x 5.5cm x 1.2cm (Approximately 9 7/8" x 2" x 7/16"). This blank is from an industrial cutting mill that self destructed. Blades were fairly intact (just a little dinging on leading beveled cutting surface) so are no longer suitable for their intended use. Leading long edge is beveled at aprox 70' and back long edge is slightly machine rounded over on both sides.

Do a search for "junkyard dog". That's THE discussion forums for blacksmiths. You will find bladesmiths by the bushel basket.

Knife makers are a special breed. You'll like them. They'll love you.
