Does anyone know how many cubic feet in 50 pound bag of fertilizer (13-13-13 if anyone cares). I'm not asking how much it will cover. I'm buying a spreader. The max weights listed have do not always correspond to the amount of fertilizer you can carry, i.e. just because its listed at a 500 pound capacity doesn't mean it will hold ten 50 pound bags of fertilizer. You usually cube out before you hit max weight, which is why manufacturers list the cubic foot capacity too. I imagine its around a 0.7-0.8 cubic feet or so. If know one knows, I'll go buy some tomorrow and measure it. Thanks in advance!

60 lbs per cubic foot according to several web sources. That comes out to .83 CF per 50 pounds.

For an average,I think you are pretty close with .7 cf. Bagged ready mix concrete is .66cf in 50 Lb bag.

Thanks. Yeah, that it. Dry Bulk Commodity Weights.

A Landpride FSP700 is rated for 9.18 cu. ft. and 563 lbs. max weight...it would hold 550.8 pound of fertilizer at 60 pounds a square foot. Maybe I should get the bigger FSP1000 12.18 cu. ft. (673 lbs.)...
