Kubota 5040 with FEL
Hey everyone,

I am interested in looking at a gooseneck trailer to haul my kubota 5040 with a loader and still have enough room for a bush hog on the back. I am interested in getting some info on the 14GP with the 24' deck. I have seen several Big Tex trailers going up and down the road and they are a good looking trailer. I saw one of these trailers going down the road with a bobcat on it. For now it would be pulled with a f450 from work but I will likely purchase a 1ton diesel in the next couple of years.

I do not know a lot about Big Tex Trailers, but I have a Gator Made Trailer, which are made in KY. It is an awesome and well-made trailer, and a good deal for the money. If you are looking, you might wish to also consider this brand. I have no regrets about mine. It is by far the best trailer I have owned and looks quite similar to the Big Tex brand. I suppose whichever has the closer dealer and is the better priced.

Have a Big Tex 20' 12k Big Pipe with the long double fold up ramps, lost a dust cap but the dealer sent me a couple. Seems like a well built trailer!

I have a big tex 16' car hauler.. wood deck.. 2 3500# axles.. 1 brake axle.. .. etc. Great trailer.. no complaints.. except that the oem deck rotted within a year. My replacement deck has made it for multiple years now.

I have a Big Tex trailer for towing my tractor and van. It's a 16' car hauler. It has not given me a bit of problem until Monday. When I woke up to find a flat tire on it.:( Called AAA, They came out an changed the spare for me. :) Tire had a nail in it.
I would buy another Big Tex if the need ever arises.

Over the years I have owned two Big Tex trailers, currently we have their 70CH model. I have been happy with both and would buy another Big Tex trailer.

I could not find any mention of warranty on the Big Tex site. For two inch pine to rot away within one year I would think that would be covered. Was it? I have owned two different trailers and have never had a floor problem. My neighbor now owns my original trailer and it still has the origanal oak flooring which is pushing 25 years old. :)

Hey I just discovered this new software has a "topic review" farther down the reply page. Great addition!:D

I have a Big Tex trailer but guess mine ought to be called a Little Tex. It's a dandy for hauling my little ZTR mower behind my Ranger pickup, but a bit small for most folks.:D

The dealer I bought it thru went out of business about the time my deck rotted. I know I could probably have pressed BT for a warranty repair.. however it was easy enough to just throw some PT planks on it.. then I painted it with asphalt paint.. it has held up for? 4 years or so now I believe.. with no signs of rot.

I was a bit surprised to find the boards (floor) of my trailer painted red, same as the metal, on the bottom side, but not the top. So I recently applied a heavy dose of Thompson's Water Seal to mine. I just bought it last September, so we'll see how long it lasts. Unfortunately, it does have to sit out in the weather.
