Anyone heard about a 2720? found info.

On JD website under manuals, I was playing around typing in possible new model numbers and found manuals for 2720 & 3005 models.
3005 basically uses 790 manual.
2720 is in 2520's body, but with more power.
30.5 gross eng. & 23.5 PTO @ 2500 rpms.

Ya, I heard about that a week or so ago. Seems Intel is now moving into the tractor world, upgrade, upgrade, upgrade.....

Be interesting to see if it's a module or injector adjustment, If it is, I could always use a few more ponys..

Of course, it just adds to the scales to justify a larger green friend in a few years...

crazy, link is under manuals. even crazier i am a dealer and JD has never once mentioned any additions to the 2000 series. might be a 2009 thing...

When I purchased my new 790 last month two dealers told me Deere was discontinuing the 790. One dealer said it was just a model number change. In the short time I had to look at the specifications of the 3005, the only difference between the two was the 790 has a hydraulic system pressure of 2050 psi while the 3005 hydraulic system pressure is 2422-2698 psi. Several TBN members who own a 790 have added shims to raise the hydraulic pressure to 2500 psi because of a weak loader. I probably will add shims to.

Looks like the 2720 is a rebadged 2520 (not that there's anything wrong with that), but looking at the specs, it would have been nice if Deere had gone with a 3-range hydro.

A dealer source told me that this won't happen until 09'
