yep.. the 416rigby is a real shoulder tenderizer. i would not want it in anything smaller than a large rifle platform.

i know hornady makes the ammo at 150$ a box or so retail. you can find older federal sometimes at shows for 80-120 a box many times..

You need a copy of John Taylor's "African Rifles and Cartridges" for a real insight on the 416 Rigby

Then you need to round up some reloading gear and data

Hard for me to imagine having a good time and gaining any usefull ability with the rifle with ammo at $150.

Generally speaking the flat shooting 7's and 30's are used for wild sheep.

Really? And there I was using my 7x57 to shoot deer bear and moose. It's a wonder any of them ever went down. :laughing:
