I am looking for information/photos/diagrams of the Kubota BH90 quick coupler or perhaps a QC from one of the dedicated Kubota TLBs. Anyone got one? I'd like to either adapt one or fabricate something like that for my Woods BH90x as Woods doesn't make anything like it. I can see that the Kubota ordering page allows you to specify that as an option for about $500 but it doesn't show any photos. Thanks

Woods does make brackets to make there hoe's a full frame. The 80 on a 3240 that I just took in trade has it and they were the first to have it for Kubota cab tractors. I would think for the cross on parts here you could get the woods frame for an L-4400 and be quite close if not virtually bolt on.

Art, are you referring to the subframe? I was meaning to ask about the quick connect for the backhoe bucket to quickly change buckets.

I found a part number BT4450 for the quick coupler that is designed for the L45 backhoe but cannot locate that part in Kubota's on line parts system. The BH90 apparently also has a bucket QC as an option as well and that is likely scaled closer to the Woods BH80x. I was able to select it for $647 list price as an option during my build my Kubota session. Cannot find further info however.

I have a L39 (american) and L45 (canadian) and the quick disconnect backhoe buckets are different because of the 2 countries. I had to change over the L39 to the canadian version so I can share 3 buckets between the 2 tractors. Picture 1 is the american version, picture 2 is the canadian version. By the way, the american version is better and easier to get on and off as you just have to pull one pin. The canadian version requires one bolt to come out and its at least a 1" nut.

Thanks mbraday, are you aware of any part numbers or diagrams?

My 110 has what sounds like the Canadian Kubota quick coupler. You just have to take out a bolt which holds it in place.

Martian,

Yup, looks the same as the canadian version.

Island Tractor,

Sorry got nothing. To the best of my memory an 18" bucket was about 750 and the quick connect was also about 750 canadian. It's usually cheaper in the states. Any Kubota dealer should be able to get the part number and cost for you....

Can you attach a receiver to any bucket to make it compatable or does that system only work with special buckets? I'm trying to find a design for a QC that will allow me to switch between my current standard bucket and my root ripper neither of which is a Kubota design. I was hoping to find a QC system that would permit me to build an adapter for each of my "buckets" and then switch between them. The bolt on design of the Canadian version is no problem. I don't need to switch on the fly from the cockpit. I'm just trying to avoid a one hour flail each time I switch out the implements as I then need to line up the main pin with four holes (2 bucket, 2 thumb and of course the dipper). It is a two person cussin' and bloody knuckles exercise currently so anything would be better.

It is a pretty standard design with most small to mid size mini excavators, so you just need the quick connect bucket. I believe John Deere sells the pin-on style to quick connect for the buckets, not sure whether their pin-on is the same as your's though.

You can see (sorry for the low-quality!) how the front pin runs all the way through, with brackets for the thumb on each side and the quick coupler for the bucket goes in-between the backhoe and the thumb. I only took it off once, but the entire operation took about 30 seconds to unscrew the bolt, uncurl the bucket and its dropped, and the reverse to put it on. Don't have to get out of the seat except to tighten the bolt. I would take some better pictures, but the tractor is at the cabin, so I don't have access to it.

Here's the pin on to quick coupler information:

There's a good picture of the quick coupler bucket side here:

Thanks Martian. Could you please repost the link as that doesn't work. I'll study the JD system. Looks initially like I could weld some of the adapter pieces to my existing pin on buckets but I'll investigate further.
