I just looked at the specs on the smallest McCormick and I think it looks pretty good. I have never owned a tractor so basically no experience. Please feel free to talk me into it or out of it. And why? Thanks in advance.

Can't talk you into or out of a tractor without knowing what your tractor needs are. How much property do you need to maintain, are you going to mow, pull a plow, push a snow plow, rototiller, dig post holes, do loader work, etc.
Give us a clue so we can better help you decide. Tractor specs look good for a typical homeowner to use around the yard.

I do not believe McCormick has manufactured tractors in years. What McCormick sells are tractors badged for McCormick by other manufactures, mostly or exclusively from Korea and Italy.

In terms of survival McCormick may be the weakest legacy brand still marketing product.

Better to buy the primary brand direct, rather than through McCormick.

I would continue looking.

I believe that unit is made by Landini, go their website and check it out. I think all McCormicks are Landinis, but sold under a different name for marketing reasons.

I don't know where "that" McCormick was made, but I don't believe ALL McCormick tractors are made by Landinni. At least the ones I've looked at around here weren't.

Originally the "new" McCormick tractors were the old Case IH designs, made in the old Case IH factory. At some point they became the same as or very similar to Landini and made in the Landini factory.

I do believe they sold some compacts that were rebadged Kioti designs. Not sure if this particular model is or not though.

According to the manufacturer it's made in Italy and they have no presence in Asia. The Plants - Argo Tractors - Argo Tractors S.p.A. - Landini, McCormick, agricultural equipments, tractors, agriculture, original spare parts
"Argo Tractors manufactures its products in 4 Italian factories.
All Landini, McCormick and Valpadana branded tractor ranges are manufactured in Italy, in the factories of Fabbrico, San Martino in Rio and Luzzara, in the province of Reggio Emilia."

It looks like a very nice tractor.

You're right, they don't have a presence in Asia. They buy tractors made there by others.

Upon further inspection they have sold LS, Daedong (Kioti) and now Kukje (Branson) as their compacts.

Ps... I believe the X1.25 is a Kukje.

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to chime in with some correct details. We are a McCormick dealer so I can tell anyone who's interested who makes McCormick tractors. ALL of the larger tractors (X4,X5,X6,X6L,X7 and the new X8 series) are made BY McCormick. McCormick and Landini are part of the same company and owned by the same family. The large McCormick tractors are made in Italy in the same factory that has been making Landini tractors for decades. When McCormick first came back to the market in 2000 the large tractors were made in the old Case IH factory in Doncaster England. In 2007 they moved all the large tractor production to Italy when the shift in global currency made them too expensive to produce and compete.

The current compact McCormick tractors are made FOR McCormick in South Korea by Kukje (the same company that makes Branson tractors). The CT series McCormick tractors from 2007 to about 2011 were made by LS Tractor. The X10 series McCormick tractors were made by Daedong (who makes Kioti tractors) from about 2011 until 2015. The semi-compact GX series McCormick tractors were made in house by Landini. Hopefully this will answer some questions that people have. We have sold a lot of McCormick compact tractors over the years and people have been very happy with them. We are also an LS dealer and likewise our customers have been very happy with their LS Tractors.
