I have been seeing a lot of the Tomahawk grapples and buckets in auction listings. I am looking for a grapple of this type and was wondering if anyone is familiar with them or could tell me about how much they are selling for. Specifically, I am looking at a Tomahawk 72" heavy duty grapple. I have a New Holland TN65 with a BushHog loader that I would be using it on. I would like to know a good price range and if they are well built.

My brother jut ought a used one that didn't fit the other guy's machine size and he loves it, it's a bucket grapple. I've not seen any for sale in my area, so I can't comment on the new price.

Don Smock had these grapples at auction 3/27/15. The auction was held in Pendelton Indiana. The 72 inch two lid grapples sold for 1200.00-1500.00. Worth looking up under auction results @ Don Smock auctions. Really big sale with 25 pages of heavy equipment sold. As usual I stayed home.

I just bought a Tomahawk 66" grapple for $900. and it seems to be well made and heavy duty. I was told it was amish made. I haven't tried it out yet.

Good info by Xfaxman... the information on the whole DH Machine/Versatech relationship is pretty much spelled out there.
Check out Polk Auction on eBay, that is their only dealer. New 72" HD listed for $1290ish last year, might have gone up a bit this year.
I have only a Versatech rock bucket, but you can't beat it for the price.

Thanks for the info guys - I have seen one listed at a local auction for this Saturday and wanted to try to find out what it is worth prior to bidding. Xfaxman's link answered a lot of my questions and provided excellent information. Thanks for all your replies. If anyone else has info, I am still listening
