Anyone Have A Mile Marker Hydraulic Winch?

Hi,

Anyone with a Mile Marker hydraulic winch that can tell me what the make and model of the hydraulic motor is? Please let me know your winch's rating, too.

I just bought their 70-50050C series 10,500lb rated pull winch. It's at camp and I don't have all the details on the motor. Sorry. I haven't even made the mounts for it yet.

It does say it uses 3.5 gals/min at 1500psi and is a 17.9 C.I. hydraulic motor if that helps?

"Freespooling. Mechanical Lock. Sealed against the elements. Can use underwater. Corrosion resistant, Stainless Steel Tie Bars and Fasteners. Reversible mounting."

I got it with this heavy duty receiver clevis and 100' of 3/8" cable and hook for $699 on eBay. Shipping ws $35.

Thanks. The tech at MM claims that 1500 PSI is the absolute max rating for the motor. I am trying to find out enough information about the motor to determime or confirm its max rating. If it is higher than 1500, I will be happy. If it is truly 1500, then I may see if I can find a higher pressure replacement at a reasonable price. If I can, I will order the winch.

Are you looking at the max pressure as a problem because you have more pressure than that out of the pump you are going to power it with or because you want more power out of the motor. I would think that if you were worried about input pressure a regulator that regulated to 1500 psi would work to fix that. If you want more power out of the motor then will the rest of the winch hold up to that much power ?

My hydraulics' relief valve setting is 2275 psi. That is my concern. I have thought about putting some sort of relief valve in the winch circuit, but that is an additional complication and added plumbing. It might just be easier to change out the motor.

First step is to find out what they are using for a motor.

i would think just a relief valve that relieves pressure back to the return side of the motor would be a sure fire cure. or just a pressure regulator that only allows through a set amount of pressure. I would think both of those would be cheaper than replacing the motor if it wont take the pressure

I have a 75-50050C, which is the same as 3RRL's except it powers in and out. I just looked and the motor housing has "Roller Stator CF" cast in relief on the end. Otherwise, there is a plate with a Mile Marker Model number and serial number. In addition to the pressure, you will also have to make accommodations for the solenoid valve as it is rated for 3.5GPM max...

Thank you for the info, bjcsc. I also found an end photo of a 12K version on the net with a Parker "TorqLink" motor. I couldn't read the model number though.

I won't be using the solenoid valve. I plan on using the rear remotes and will control it from the driver's seat.

I use a MM 10500 on a logging winch that I made. I use it on a Kubota L3830 and it has never given me a problems as far as hydraulics.

I was wondering about using mine on my tractor hydraulics, just using it even though my max is 2300psi and max flow is 7 glas/min. After reading the above posts, I was wondering if I needed to control that to the winch's specs? Now reading you post, what is your max psi and gals/min flow on your tractor.
I was thinking of using my winch at idle or a little more?
