Anyone have a MechMaxx 3-pt stump grinder?

I looked at the WG24 and can’t see any difference between it and the Mechmaxx. What am I missing?

He's talking about the WG 28, a new model, bigger, heavier, has a spring and needs min of 35 HP to operate. Also costs more.

Well, yeah I saw that one. it’s a much bigger costlier model.

I do like the chain deflector. The shock absorber and angle indicator is ok I guess, but it's easy enough for me to see the angle.
The overall weight and larger diameter rotor are certainly performance oriented.

Now that baby bill is done with his tantrum, like I was originally saying, the latest model from Woodland Mills does offer some real improvements over their first model.

I have the first model, and I can see where the improvements would be real "improvements". That doesn't mean that the first model doesn't work though.

I've ground quite a few stumps with mine.

I have the BaumaLight equivalent to Woodland Mills only because when I was looking to buy, WM had a very long lead time.
I might hang a few lengths of chain off of the metal deflector to knock down the initial spray and occasional chunk of whatever.

Right wrong or indifferent, I generally keep the hinge pinned solid and am careful to not pull too hard on the stump. Unpinned, The cutting wheel starts hinging way too easily.
I can see how a spring loaded shock absorber would be an improvement. Maybe I can fab that also!

Again Sawyer, I know your struggling with keep tracking of what's going on, this is a thread about MechMaxx, and still you haven't provided a single useful comment other then the Woodland has "improvements", yet don't tell anyone what they are, even when multiple people have asked.

I usually could care less if a conversation goes sideways. But you have added nothing useful and now are talking about models that aren't even comparable.

stump is close to 4 feet wide in the below photo's took me prolly 35 minutes. took it down as low as the 3 point would go. prolly took over a foot off the stump

This will prolly be the last update for me on this.

I am happy. the machine seems well made. I was concerned with my 20 pto hp, but i can be pretty aggressive, for a home owner machine its more then acceptable. I thought I would need to baby it, but not really. I stalled it once to see how much it takes and its needs like a 4 inch + cut to get there. I did buy a camera, but it was not setup up great out of the gate and had to hold it. If i had to do 40 stumps I would need the camera, but I did 4

the 4 foot stump was massive, and took prolly an hour, but I wasn't really rushing. 1 foot tree's are less then 10 minutes. that said none of my tree's were alive for years, so the wood was softer. Teeth look fine, hit a bunch of rock as well.

Tried to use the chainsaw holder. not sure I figured that out yet, I have a low end consumer chainsaw and the blade is small, max tightness it still slid. I need to investigate another day.

any questions let me know. But I did 80% of my tree's today already with it.
