I just got ahold of an 8hp Kemp brand chipper shredder, Wondered if anyone else has one or has experience with them and perhaps can tell me how it works and things to be aware of.
I used to have one but sold it 10 years ago as it was just too small slow. Some of the knives are replaceable or reversible - they are a nice small chipper for occasional use if you don't have a lot of stuff to chip bigger than 2".
They don't like dry hardwood - they prefer green hardwood or pine.

I used to have one but sold it. You can find an owner's manual online and machine is full of ways to get hurt so be careful. Mine worked fine, especially for turning straw and yard waste into mulch. It's not so good on limbs but overall is a fine chipper. If you happen to put a branch in the top portion that is intended for mulching, it can tend to pull you into the machine.
Just watch your fingers and be careful if you want to hang on to all of them. What did you pay for it and it's OK if you don't want to say.
I sold mine 10 years ago for $250 all in good running order. I paid $275, chipped maybe 10 hours with it and was glad to see it gone - it was just too cumbersome with the tow handle, four wheels, and not liking dry hardwood or bigger pieces.
