I just wanted to see if anyone broke the belt on the 62D Mid mount mower? My wife was mowing today and the belt totally ripped in half. I guess we will have to take another trip to the JD dealer tomorrow? The 2720 only has 25 hours on it.
Could have just been a manufacturing defect. After three years mine don't even look that worn, but yours may be new enough to be considered an "out of box" failure. Good on the dealer for coming out to replace it himself!
I lost a belt on my 62D when a small stone got stuck between the belt and one of the covers. Replaced with Goodyear BB116 hex belt - about half the cost the the JD belt.
The JD service guy was here today and had to take the whole tractor back to the dealership. he said he is sure there is something wrong with the gear box. I will post more when I find out anything else. Only 25 hours on it and this is the second time we had a problem - well 3 times but that was when they delivered it to us ( the top of the hood had a big dent in it but they replaced it in a week with a brand new one). The second time when mowing the adjustment bar totally came apart and the lock nut and the part you turn to adjust the height was lost. Hope this is the last for a long time!
