I like the local newspaper's coverage of local stories. They are always more in-depth than the local TV stations, and their website usually has more links to other articles related to the story, and you can go back and get the story from the beginning if you come in late to the story. For the past 5-10 years, they've been doing video stories as well. However, I have a fondness for photos. The newspaper's website usually has a bunch of photos that aren't in the paper, and our local newspaper photographers have won numerous awards for photojournalism.
Every morning on the way to work I used to stop by the local store for a cup of coffee and the morning paper. The clerk's friend was always there reading their horrorscopes out loud. When I went to read my paper, the middle half would be missing.
I started going to a different store, and to 25 years later on the rare occasion that I buy a paper I still pull it out of the middle of the pile. I still would prefer to get a paper copy, as there's a lot there which doesn't get online.
I also stopped subscribing to magazines, as it seemed that they would give a brief overview of a story then say "To read more go to "www.*.*"

If you subscribe to the San Antonio Express news and let your subscription expire and they keep delivering it for two weeks then you decide say 6 months later to renew for a year they will apply the two weeks to your new subscription. Thus your one year subscription gets two weeks shorter immediately.

We have a very local paper that covers two different towns in two different papers that have the same layout (format). The paper I had delivered is from one county over from the "big city".
Thing is, I do expect newspapers to actually spell correctly LOL
Can't complain, didn't have to go ut and buy a paper today for the Sunday comics as the paper again was at the end of the driveway.

Oh, it's spelled correctly. Spellcheck takes care of that. But there aren't any proofreaders anymore. Therefore....

The unfortunate reality is that if you have the newsprint copy delivered you now have to (at least here anyway) recycle the newsprint. So it is easier to view news online.
