My bucket on my LA482 bucket has a bend on the top about middle way. Its probably about 2'' down from normal. I was wondering if anyone had a good ideal on how to straighten this back to normal?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge

If you post a coupla pics of the bucket, it might give you more/better responses.

One approach might be to clamp a thick steel bar near one end of the bucket, over the bent in part, across to the other end of the bucket. Install a large clamp on that end and start tightening. This should draw the bent area back to normal.

The other thing, and it will take more hands, would be to attach a chain around the bucket and using a hydraulic jack, move it back to normal

I'd reinforce it once it's back, as it would tend to bend there again.

Hope this helps.

Had a chain attached to the center of the bucket on my MF loader and it bent down like you are describing. I used a 20 ton jack located in the bucket and some scrap iron to jack it back in place. You may have to tack weld it in place to make sure it does not slide on you

If you use the hydraulic jack to push it back up, place a large thick flat piece of steel across as much of the bottom of the bucket as you can get. If you don't spread out the jack force you will have the top up and the bottom down.

Once straight, weld some 3/8th x 1 1/2" angle across the top . That will make it nice and strong.

Harbor Freight maybe your answer? I bought a set of their auto repair hydraulics with adjustable attachments. They work great, and I straightened my bucket on my tractor. They are a handy for other things with multiple adapters, that use hydraulic pressure also. The price was $60-70?

Thanks guys for the ideals, I brought home a porta power from work...should have known...it didn't work. I'll try again after Christmas and I get some time with some heavy angle and a porta power that actually works.

Thanks again

HELLO TO ALL,
SIR,
i had the same problem, but mine was not that severe.
it was caused from lifting with a chain around the bucket.
i was able to get mine back by installing a 2x3in angle behind
the top lip of the bucket, and skip welding it to the bucket.
then i welded bucket hooks to the angle. this works much
better, and i have lifted some pretty heavy loads with this
setup, and it seems to be fine now.
good luck with your projects.

Same thing here on my B3030. The upper lip on that bucket is MIGHTY skimpy! 2 x 3 angle all the way across and hooks etc..welded to the angle and not the bucket material itself.

Cheapest they have now is 180.00. That is some serious inflation. lol
