I cannot miss an episode of this show. even when the old ones are on, I find myself watching them. Some 4 and 5 times.

This season looks like its going to be a good one, or they got better people to work on the preview.

Anyone else?

Yes, I think I may have seen every episode and some multiple times.

I like it too, I didn't realize what I missed, living in Alaska until the show. I"m with BIRD!

Well, I am glad I am not the only one. I was a little nervous when there was not a season starting in January. I thought Discovery dropped it....

I think working on the Time Bandit would be a blast. I keep thinking that there is a lot that happens that we miss... The Hilstrand guys seem like a fun group!

I do find myself attracted to this show too, and any other Alaskan related shows on discovery. This makes me wonder

It's not a must see show, but I enjoy the episodes that I have seen. I don't think it matters to see them in order or not, they are all the same, but interesting enough n what happens in each episode to make them entertaining. I do wonder how many of them suffer from the same problems of not taking care of their equipment and breaking down from taking shortcuts or not putting the money into it to do it right the first time? How many ships out there are in this category and if the producers chose those ships to film because of the drama they have as compared to a well run, well taken care of ship that turns a profit, gets the job done and never has any problems? Or does such a ship exist?

I like Axeman too. I like the problems that the come into, the equipment that they use and how they are always cutting corners, having things break down on them and then blaming everyone else for their problems. It's funny but sad. It's also interesting that they can still make a profit and stay in business even though they create most of their problems by taking these shortcuts. Most of all, I enjoy seeing them make those in field repairs and how they overcome the obstacles that they either create themselves, or that just come up because of the type of work they do.

As far as Axe Men goes, this season they have that psycho guy that recovers logs from the rivers. I'm surprised his kid has stuck around or hasn't whacked him in his sleep yet!

I think the producers pay the kid to hang around, just for the show, and the old man needs to take his Lithium.

Well, I've watched about 15 minutes of "The Deadliest Catch", one episode of "The Axe Men" and one episode of "Ice Road Truckers" and don't think I'll be increasing that experience.

On the Ice Road Fellows A friends son has hauled on the road. The program is just plain stupid as compared to reality.:D

I haven't seen any of "The Axe Men" but I've watched several episodes of the "Ice Road Truckers". I'm afraid the vast majority of my TV watching is not that there's something on that I want to watch; just that there isn't anything else on that I rather watch. Most of my use of the remote is going up and down the "Guide" hoping to find something worth watching, and it's very seldom that I do find such.:(

I actually talked to Andy Hillstrand from the Time Bandit quite by accident. He lives about 25 miles from me and runs a little horse operation when he's not in Alaska. I rode with a friend to pick up his daughter from Andy's place. Even though I really like the show, I'm embarrassed to say that I really didn't recognize him and I didn't put 2 and 2 together until after we left and my friend said that Andy was leaving to go king crab fishing in Alaska where he owns a crab boat. Duh! I guess Andy thought I was just polite and didn't want to bother him by asking him about his 'other' occupation. :)

That is a statement I fully concur with.

What really annoys me is that the programs mentioned could be very interesting if they stuck to facts and forgot all about the pretty sad story line thing they are peddling!:(

Yeah, watch most of them, the crab fishers are about the best one,now axmen is pretty good, that crazy aqua logger guy,is now the star of the show,I wouldn't work within 1/4 mile of that guy if I was getting paid 100 bucks an hour. But he's fun to watch, cause he's not acting,[well much],his poor son must be in a bad bind somehow to put up with that,he needs to join the military.

Yep, love Deadliest Catch.... there's some reality going on there.... cold, ice, heavy stuff, waves..... and they do their work in all of it....I think they are REAL men.... and, as in my own experience, when bad things happen it is in an instant.... or you avoid it barely....
