I have had to use a fire extinguisher one time in my life and it probably saved my house. I turned on the wrong burner to heat some water and the burner I turned on had a pan of old grease sitting on it. Had flames blazing to the ceiling by the time I got to it. House was less than a year old. Made a mess but no claim and I cleaned it up. No matter how much you clean smoke damage you have to prime it before it will take paint and not show through. I am a fanatic about not leaving a pan of grease on the stove unattended now. I have extinguishers everywhere. 3 in the garage, one in the utility room, and one in the bedroom. Now I'm going to have one on each tractor and another in my truck.
Your post motivated me to get a couple for my tractors. I need one more for my truck but the Autozone I stopped at only had 2. I just used a stainless hose clamp to mount one to the ROP on my JD.
