Nice. I need to figure out where to put one on mine. Downside to having a cab is it limits customization options

Reasons I located mine where I did:

1. Within reach from seat. (In case I can't get out of the seat for some reason and need it.)
2. Within easy reach to grab when hopping off tractor. (Don't have to reach near potential flames (engine area) to grab it.)
3. Within envelope of ROPS in case of roll over. (To prevent damaging it.)
4. Out of the way of passing low branches. (To prevent damaging, dislodging, or discharging it.)
5. Pointed away from operator. (In case of accidental discharge.)
6. It fit there.

I have a small one in the toolbox on the fender of the Ford 4630.

Years ago my dad had a MF 1085 and I borrowed it to bush hog at the farm we hunt. I had been going for a few hours and it had a battery under each floor board. I was going up and down a small hill section and noticed sparks shoot out the right side of the tractor. The right side battery door, the hinge rotted off and the battery came out and shorted against the fuel pump on the side of the engine. It melted a hole in the side of the pump where the oil was contacting the housing and it caught fire. Luckily I was able to blow it out cause I had nothing else to do it with. I went and got some 2 part epoxy and cleaned it up good and put it on and bungied the battery back in and finished the job. Dad traded the tractor a few years later like that. I got lucky I didn't burn his tractor to the ground.

The metal support bracket is nice, but much more important is the metal head and metal hand grips.
The cheap extinguishers, whatever their size, are made with plastic heads and hand grips that become brittle with age.
They cannot be tested/refilled.
I just threw 3 of my 10 pounders away.
You can buy new all metal head/grip 10 pounders on Zorro.com for $63 delivered.
I have had one MAJOR fire, and one small.
I did have extinguishers.

Don't cheap out on fire extinguishers!

Having a fire extinguisher is hardly the issue, or how to mount it.

My concern is to be able to get the chemical to where it will put out the fire. So you have flames coming out from your engine compartment. Some people would discharge the extinguisher at the flames, doing no good at all.

Also, would a small extinguisher be any good for dealing with a good sized shorted battery, say the starter shorted out.
