Anyone else have an unusually large number of hummingbirds this year?

Our migrating bird count is down to seeing a couple a day. Wife says the food gone from the feeders means we are just not seeing them. The ones we do see are before dawn and they drink a lot of food. They really fill up.

So wife is going to change the food every two or three days and keep the feeders out longer. I think the birds depend on finding a food source and we are glad to provide it.

One numbers have really fallen off here on the south shore of the BIG lake.

Have not seen any in a few days and we are getting flocks of other birds coming through looking for berries and bugs

Haven't seen any around here for about a week. Wife took all of the feeders except one down.

We're also down on numbers here in mid-Georgia. This past summer we'd average around 40 or so at a time, but now that we've had a couple of mild storms blow through, the count is dropping fast.

Most of our current visitors are very small. I'm thinking that they're newbies and may not be ready to make the Mexico trip this year. I'm unsure whether we should take in the feeders now to encourage them to move along or keep the feeders out in case there are some that are unable to make the trip. Suggestions?

I thought we had finally seen the last of em' for this year but last night there was one female at the only feeder being left out.
