Anybody remember these babies?

A Plymouth Scamp. A pickup truck based on the Charger/Omni platform front wheel drive. I went to a cruise night last night and this was there, freshly painted and nice inside and out. Not something you see restored very often. I wonder what the payload is? A six pack of Bud Light and a feather pillow?

These mini pickups are good for one keg of beer (Moosehead), ice and 2 bags of chips (in case you bring a friend for the weekend)

I remember seeing one of these, BRAND NEW at Camp Horseshoe in Rising Sun Maryland back when I was a kid in the early 80’s.

I owned the Dodge Rampage version of that. I put over 200,000 miles on it. It was the perfect "truck" for me. I don't know what the payload was, but for my needs it was fine, a few sheets of plywood, etc. I would be willing to bet that the majority of trucks on the road today don't ever come close to hauling their max payloads and probably don't even come close to hauling the max payload of a Rampage.

I remember seeing one of those old Plymouths from years ago. I've also seen one "Fargo", which I believe was the Canadian version of a Dodge.

Edit: I was partially right. According to hagerty, they were mainly sold in Ontario. That cool Dodge truck is actually a Fargo—from Canada - Hagerty Media

Those were some cool trucks I miss.....Fargo and Mercury.

Cosworth Vega, with it's twin cam overhead motor, now that brings back memories! Last one I saw of those was in the early 90's in a scrapyard!
A favorite of mine was the GMC Cyclone pickup. It took the Buick Grand National V-6 and increased it to 4.3, added all wheel drive and got rid of those "electric brakes"! Probably one of the fastest stoplight to stoplight vehicles I ever drove, and the only thing it would do better than accelerate was STOP! That thing would stop on a dime and give you 8 cents change! If you topped a hill and came up on stopped traffic, you didn't worry about stopping, you kept an eye on your rear view mirror, worried about the guy behind you being able to stop as fast as you could! The funniest thing about the Cyclone, was it's carrying capacity, which was 200 pounds! (I didn't miss a zero!!)

I got to drive a brand new one. My FIL was a professional “car reviewer”. He had one from GM to review and let me drive it. It was sick.

They also made a Dodge Charger and OmnI GLHS. Limited production and the peak power output for the 2.2 4 banger, 175hp as I recall. They are what I’d call a fringe collector car.

I remember that Charger. It could be a rare collector's car because it's so different from the earlier Chargers that were full sized V8s and todays Charger's sort of mimic the old ones in body style and size.

I owned from new a 4wd Chevy love gas, made by Isuzu. It was low powered but not bad in general.

On the way home today I saw a Vega painted Judge orange. All that I saw was the rear end and part of the passenger side so don't know if it was just paint, or somebody had actually done something to the car. It did look like a new paint job though.
