Anybody know anthing about "Fen Dong" Diesels?

I am looking at a Fen Dong 3 cyl diesel coupled to a made in UK genset, rated at 12 KW. It is skid mounted, Water cooled, and has less than 200 hrs, and the seller is asking 2K for it with a full rebuild kit as well (rings, gaskets ect) I know that Fen Dong is from china, but know nothing about them, any ideas?

The inclusion of a "full rebuild kit" should set alarm bells ringing!

I would start by asking for a reference on a recent customer and get the serial number. Then call back and try to order an injection pump for it. I think you'll end up with something else. In that price range I would look at a miller bobcat welder myself.

Not at all. That's a thing other Chinese manufacturers do too. A long term way to keep equipment working under poor conditions, aid in their maintenance, or as in the case of marine engines, to avoid having to find parts when you might be in a distant location. It's a nice benefit to know you get some extra stuff like gaskets and piston rings. I've used those parts before to repair a Chinese diesel in a cruising boat. Nothing wrong with having spares.

I don't know about that brand, but in China there are a lot of industrial diesels doing long hard work under very poor conditions. I've seen them getting unbelievably overworked with absolute minimal care. It can be a real tribute to their quality.

this is what I was thinking, I have heard of dongfeng heavy equipment. No first hand experience but I know a couple guys from a company that installs some of their machinery.
