On the Internet you are either a paying customer or you are the product. The so-called "Cloud" is infested with hackers, incompetent government agencies, and greedy companies. It is naive to believe any Cloud based data is safe! :cloud:

I had to Google DD214 to find out what it was, but I agree. With ID theft so rampant these days, last thing you want to do is leave something like that in a non-secure place.

Not if you get the ID card which I had to sign up at the site in question to get into the VA site to apply for.

You are right - the link I sent is their site that explains how companies use their service.

You don稚 sign up for a SheerID account like you do for ID.me but companies use their service to verify you when you ask for a military discount.

Most of them ask you for your info offline via email or over the phone with one of their customer service reps and then they check you out via SheerID.

SiriusXM, Costco, and other use them to give you a discount.

You can get a military discount at Costco??

Not sure, I use BJ’s so I don’t know the particulars for Costco - I had just mentioned it earlier in the thread...
