I am curious how it starts in cold weather, how the power feels, and if it is fuel injected. Any other comments would also be appreciated.

I talked to Terry the other day and we talked some about the new power trac with the Kohler engine and he said they start much better than the Subaru in cold weather.

I put a fuel-injected Kohler in my 425 after frying the original Subaru engine. The Kohler is way easier to start in cold weather.

Which engine model?

I got the ECH740-3007.

Used to be rated at 27 hp, but same engine is now rated at 25 hp.

How much did you have to revamp, or what off the Subaru fit on it, such as the exhaust header or other things. That is my only real complaint about the Subaru, after doing all the modes, is it is still a bit hard to start in the cold, but with the hydraulic tank pad on it, and a full charged battery it will start.

I would like to know if anyone put one of those little 2 cylinder diesel engines in one and how does it work for them. I wouldn't mind having a diesel in mine.

It was reasonably simple.

I had to drill a couple of new holes in the tub to accommodate the slightly different motor mount geometry and I had to adapt some of the wiring. But attaching the throttle cable was easy and the choke cable is now irrelevant.

I also had to move the battery to make room for the exhaust header/muffler unit. I didn't want to mess with its placement because the fuel injected engine relies on a sensor seated in the muffler.

I ended up going with a lithium ion motorcycle battery that sits inside the tub. seems to work fine.

I'll try to post a picture if that's not clear.
