Any way of tell how many horses or the year of an international harvestor 2404?

Just purchased my fisrt tractor and have no idea what I ahve gotten into but am willing to do the work to find out. I was hoping to find out where on a tractor it mayu say the year or horse power on an international harvester 2404. Also was curious if I could add a front end bucket to it since it has hydraulics and a PTO? Maybe there is a manual out there for this tractor too that someone is aware of?

The 2404 was the industrial version of the 404.

Look for the serial number on the right side of the engine. Since the serial numbers arent listed on tractordata for the 2404, I would assume they follow the same as the 404. So look here and see if it matches to a year...TractorData.com International Harvester 404 tractor information

And you can add a loader to just about anything. But you either need to find an old one that came off of that tractor that will bolt right up, or you better be really handy at fabricating mounts and stuff to make one work. Since the 404 or 2404 isnt really popular, I doubt you will find one that will bolt up.

IF you really want a tractor with a loader, I'd suggest selling that one and buying a tractor with a loader already on it.

I can't thank you enough for the information. I will remember what you said about getting the exact bolt on bucket and will look for the numbers on the right side. Thanx for the link.

Westendorf loaders probably makes a complete loader with brackets. Expect to pay $4000 or so.
