Congratulations on the press. It is also a good vise. The drive shaft spins slow enough that it doesn't have to be perfectly straight.

Installed the new one, but I am having a problem getting the bead to seat.
Do you mean it won't hold air or can't get air in to push the bead out?

For that size tire I use a small 1 inch wide ratchet strap around the center of the tread to force the beads out far enough to build air pressure.

I think part of the problem is the cold weather not allowing the rubber to flex much. Need to bring it inside next to the fireplace for awhile, the Mrs. will be thrilled.

I haven’t tried the ratchet strap deal yet, that was next on my list.

Received delivery of some more goodies the other day.

As part of the deal I also received this mulching deck. It痴 going to need some work, but the price was right.

Is it labeled "Guardian Recycler" on the front?

How about a model number?

Mine is a 1999, model 30716. Note that the rear wheels are fixed, not casters:

For those that haven't seen the Guardian Recycler label, found this picture at: Mathews Turf Equipment - Used Golf Carts For Sale - Hickory NC Dealer

My older deck has a different beat up scratched off label:

Got some parts in the mail.

0E036916-D62D-4529-A272-AEB931436378.jpeg

Got a new bolt and bearing for the neutral detent for the traction pedal. Mine was missing. Bearing is a strange size 5/16” hole, .865 diameter, .275 thick.

Got another air filter bowl gasket as both of my machines were missing this part. Both machines had water inside the dust cap also, possibly because this gasket was gone.

Forgot to give the belt sizes yesterday.

Fan belt
1/2” x 51 or 52”

Alternator belt
3/8” x 37”

Still fighting with this tire. I brought it to a local tire shop and even with a bead blaster they couldn’t get the bead to seal.

I brought the tire back home and dismounted it. I now have it sitting with some blocks of wood between the beads stretching things out. Will heat it up real good in front of the fire place, then bring it outside in the sub freezing temps for a few days.

If this doesn’t work, I’m out of ideas. I might try the starter fluid explosion trick as a last resort.

Thank you Asymair95 for the builds and pictures. I finally got my power steering cylinder off and in the process of rebuilding it now. The seal kit was delivered in one day from order by mail. STI really supports these units well but you pay for that convenience. Keep us updated and more pictures please. If I was a decent mechanic I would post pictures also. I am a hacker at best.

A couple of times on a stubborn tire like that, I have resorted to installing a tube. The ether method works most of the time.

The tube sounds like a good idea if I can’t get it on today. After heating in front of the fireplace and quickly cooling outside with wood pieces spreading the bead, it now holds a wider shape, and hopefully will be able to seal. Will report back with findings.

You can see how it is nice and wide here. The other tire went on and sealed fine.

Got my new brake cable in the mail. Will hopefully give me brakes again on the right side.

Also, ordered some new foot pads for the brakes as mine were missing. You can see the blocks of wood on the gas pedal. This 322 has the older design of pedal that is flat. I will be drilling some holes in the pedal and screwing these blocks to it for easier pedal articulation.

Welded up the air cleaner snorkel as it was cracked dang near half around the base.

Push arm mounting bracket was cracked also.

There were two cracks on both corners of the hood, so took care of those. The piano hinge was froze up with rust causing this damage. Some penetrating oil and patience and she is free again.

Fuel tank and hoses installed. Also got the rear seat support bracket installed and 2wd/4wd shift lever put on and hooked up.

Close up of how the 2wd/4wd bracket and bellcrank attach to the push-pull cable. Pretty simple design actually.

Getting ready for the first start, always a bit nerve racking.
