Buying Advice Any reason NOT to buy a new 1648 Cab HST ???

Hi folks. I'm contemplating upgrading to a cab tractor and one of the ones I'm comparing is the Massey 1648 HST w/DL130 loader. Specs aside, are there any reasons to stay away from one, or anything you guys don't like about them? Anything to watch out for, or anything that's problematic with them? Yes I know it's last years model and the last of the Tier 3's, which is FINE by me (avoiding T4). A few dealers I've spoken with are willing to deal on them, so it makes them more attractive than they USED to be.

Also, what is a fair price to pay for a new 1648 HST cab ?

LOL- where've you been Murph ?! I sold that Ck20 over a year ago, have a LS R4047 currently :confused2:

Looks like it's nearly identical in size to my 4047, couple inches or lbs different here or there ... but they're all pretty close these days.

There is definitely nothing wrong with a MF 1648. Before I bought my open station MF 1648, I also test drove a cabbed MF 1660 (it was the 12x12 Dyna QPS, very nice) and a smaller MF open station HST. The cab is very nice!! And I even quite liked the HST transmission, although I am a 12x12 fan. The price you mentioned in your other thread is really, really good for a MF 1648 WITH cab!

Great tractor, when I bought 5240 choice was it or 1648 cab only reason went with 5240 was swivel seat. Next tractor probably a MF

If you don't mind me asking, why would your "next" one be a Massey? Kubota makes a nice tractor too... what would sway you to Massey?

Also fellas, is the 3pt lift cylinder internal or external ? I was looking at photos, and I thought I saw an external lift cylinder on the driver's side ONLY of the 3pt lift arms. My LS has internal cylinder(s), but I know the Kub Lxx40 series use an external pair.
