I have a very friendly local Lenar dealer. As per my SOP, I googled Lenar tractor with the expectation of getting sales flack, general info and impressions, and the occational horror story. I am not turned off by horror stories, but look at the resolution as a mark of quality.

In Lenar, I got the sales flack and the unresolved horror story, but NO good news.

Is my sample size too small (all the the internet found by Google?)

thanks for your thoughtful reply.

I think I have good news! Lenar is now distributed from Texas by a new, (to Lenar) outfit and they aren't the old Lenar! They are very helpful, efficient and willing to go the extra mile to help you! I can't say enough good things about them.
Now, Lenar tells me that they have resolved some quality issues that they did have, I do not know because I have not sold one in over a year. Good luck!

I have heard that the Jiangling factory in China was sold to Mahindra last year and that Lenar must find a new manufacturing plant to produce tractors within the next year or so. The Lenar is a good tractor, Especially the 254 with the shuttle shift... very nice. The distribution channel (at least in the past) resulted is some fairly high prices (for Chinese tractors). If the new program through Texas corrects this and if they can continue to offer the Jiangling tractor, Lenar will be a good bet. Does this mean Mazama out of the loop now??? Your dealer is the biggest asset in a Chinese tractor purchase. If you have a good local dealer to support you, that is great.

You are right about the price being high Chip. I saw an ad a while back advertising the Lenar and he was a Kioti dealer too and the Kioti equvilant to the lenar was cheaper.

Ok,
but what is physically different. Have the previous problems be re-opened and resolved? What about warrenty repair by non-selling dealers (when original goes out of business). What about REALLY making good on the extended warrentee?

Changing the corporate logo does not mean anything to me. (once worked for a succession of 5 companies, 2 1/2 years, never changed what I did or my desk) /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can anyone tell me if Mazama is out of the Lenar tractor game.

Let me tell you that the new Lenar people are serious about customer service. I have called a few times for parts, the list prices are lower than a year ago and I had them in 4 business days. You can ask them technical repair questions and they have the answers. I emailed some questions about the goals of the 'new' Lenar to the president of Lenar and he called me to talk about it, unforturnatley I wasn't home at the time, but he made the effort. I have a very good feeling about these people!
I believe that Mazama products is completely out of the Lenar circle.

Hello, this is Patrick Webb, I may have been silent, but I am still very much alive and at work at trying to correct the problems I am having. Lenar does seem to have new management, some had to find different jobs because of my posting and complaints, by the way, how are you doing Ben, are you flippin burgers and getting do you want fries with that down pat? I have been talking with Rocky Philips from Texas, he is the CEO of this company, and he not only has called me, but he has made the trip from TX to Michigan to try to come up with a solution to this problem. I am supposed to get a new tractor, we have to work out the details of what it should cost me? or what it should cost the company. This is still in the works, but the situation is still not resolved. I am here and I will let you guys know what is going on.
Best regards
Patrick Webb
