Go Appalachian State!:D

Hey, the game was even mentioned by the pastor at church today.

This does not happen very often, and when you're up in Boone, it's BIG NEWS!

Sort of like if Youngstown State would ever beat Ohio State, but this is even bigger.

Joe,

Amen!! (Literally). I did not go to App State but when I played ball at Davidson, we were still in the Southern Conference and played them then. App has always had a solid team and I told two of my physician friends Saturday before the game (they both went to Michigan) that this would be a very tight game. They both laughed, and neither came into work today. My parents currently live in Ashe County and they are close enough to feel part of the "high country" community. My dad said Boone was very loud last night. I was, however, saddened to see that Independence High in Charlotte lost their game in Ohio. Apparently, they did not play well and their 109 game winning streak ended. Having played both high school and college football myself and having several mates go on to NFL careers, I can say no matter what level a team is, winning 109 straight games is an unbelievable accomplishment. I congratulate both teams, one for winning a big game in a hostile environment v. a solid team and the other for carrying on a seven year win streak that has been unequalled in recent memory. I am heading to Boone tomorrow, hopefully the town is still existant.
