My 2 cents is I grew up with grandparents next door. Grandfather was a physician. He used to say just eat a good balanced diet.
Over the years and it seems like it's longevity is maybe two years there's another miracle diet. Now we see Super Beets powder supplement. We just eat beets. I do think over time with GMOs and food additives we're not getting proper nutrition or worse yet additives like high fructose corn syrup and highly refined foods what we eat is actually harmful.
My nephew Jason lives/works in Peru and always had interest in nutrician.

Grandfather was a physician. He used to say just eat a good balanced diet.

Years ago, Dr Dean Edell had a caller ask about the latest diet pill that everyone was buying. He said that if there was something out there that actually worked, everyone would know about it, and that the person who came up with it would be famous.

I tend to believe this. If it actually worked, we would all know about it and everyone would be taking it.

CBD oil falls into this category too. My wife swears by it, and I have to admit that when she takes it, her stomach issues from her Colon Cancer treatment are much better, but I'm still not a believer for myself. Right now, we still don't know if milk is good for us or not!!!!

Once a day one heaping tablespoon about 2 hours after breakfast in water.

What does it taste like? Does it dissolve in the water? I would not think.

Food Grade: This type contains 0.5 - 2 % crystalline silica and is used as an insecticide and an anti-caking agent in the agricultural and food industries. It is approved for use by the EPA, USDA, and FDA (3, 4).

Filter Grade: Also known as non-food-grade, this type contains upwards of 60% crystalline silica. It is toxic to mammals but has many industrial uses, including water filtration and dynamite production

When it comes in contact with an insect, the silica removes the waxy outer coating from the insect's exoskeleton. Without this coating, the insect cannot retain water and dies of dehydration

However, you need to be very careful not to inhale diatomaceous earth. Doing so will irritate your lungs much like the inhalation of dust — but the silica makes it exceptionally harmful. Inhaling crystalline silica can cause inflammation and scarring of your lungs, known as silicosis

However, while some supplements can boost your health, there is absolutely no evidence that diatomaceous earth is one of them. If you want to improve your health, your best bet is to change your diet and lifestyle.

FWIW...the vast studies done (autopsies mostly) on the thousands and thousands of young casualties during the viet nam war showed that by the time the average young soldier was 20+ years old the damage was already done or starting as far as heart disease and other ailments derived from diet...

It tastes like prehistoric fossilized Diatoms . It is not a strong taste or a bad taste, just different than anything I have had before.
No, it doesn't dissolve by the technical definition of dissolve. It mixes with the water and is easy to drink.

As a kid I'm sure we all ate lots of Play Doh which is flour, water,*salt, borax, and mineral oil (I just looked it up). Borax is used to get rid of cockroaches.

And ants. Foraging workers take it back to the colony feed it to them. They are unable to digest it and die.

Thinking back now to when I quit taking DE after that first 50 pound bag ran out. My fingernails got soft and split easily. The swelling in my lower legs came back. And my left knee started hurting again.

I ordered some online and have been taking it ever since.

"PubMed lists 92 articles on diatomaceous earth, but none of them support the health claims that have been made. A PubMed search for the health benefits of silicon was equally unrewarding. One article found a decrease in litter pH when silicon was added to the feed of turkeys; nice to know! One review article said ç”°ompelling data [compelling to whom?] suggest that silica is essential for health although no RDI has been established.?

. . . .a nutrient rich diet with adequate fruits and vegetables will generally meet skeletal needs in healthy individuals."

Diatomaceous Earth? No Thank You! Science-Based Medicine
