Thank you for the suggestion. I had lubed it twice myself, and the dealership tried that 1st. he said if he couldn't get it today, he was doing a Dtac on it and see what deere says. he said with the linkage removed he still had a issue, and would replace the internal return spring ( I had already replaced the external return spring and shock absorber before taking it to deere. also used all deere parts). I have a feeling they will be splitting the tractor on this 1. 😪

Called the dealer today. JD wants them to check the regulators ( forward and reverse) and pump pressures of the hydrostatic transmission . So they ordered a pressure kit. It should be there next week. hopefully this narrows things down.

It has been some time and out of the blue I get a call from the dearship . My loader ( ordered a new 440R loader for the 4700) Had shown up today. And since they know I won't sign the paperwork til we know what's happening with the Transmission. I had a update on the test they conducted on the HST pressure pumps. 1 of the pumps ( they didn't state which 1 , I'm imaging it's the forward 1) is putting out about 1000 psi. the spec is 6000 psi. so they told me next week they will have a parts list and quote to repair it. I looked at new pumps a few weeks back that JD offers as a original replacement and it's close to $1900.00 a pump. $4600.00 for a new Transmission. so we will see. Hopefully next week I can give everyone another update.

Hang in there, my friend. For those of us with that line of tractor (mine is a 4600 - 23 years old), it’s good to understand what can happen. Good luck!

I appreciate that!! hopefully I know something concrete in the next few days. I would really like to get this fixed and back on the farm. I still have my JD 4320 , but it's set up for mostly snow removal right now. come spring both will be out working in the fields . My daughter will primarily be running the 4700 . she really loves its size ( to her it feels smaller then the 4320). I bought the 4700 used , I test drove it and knew there could very well be something up with the transmission, but didn't seem at all terrible to drive. The dealership when they 1st saw it said it was some minor adjustments. And now here we are. Anyways thanks for the support!!

Man you must have been reading my mind !! lol. Stopped in there today and they said they have done all they can do without looking inside. so I told them split the tractor and let's see what's going on . the mechanic was very nervous when I said that. his boss saw it to and said don't worry. we have 3 transmission specialists at our other locations ( they have 18 locations). we will bring 1 down to do the job, that was instant relief for the mechanic. so hopefully tomorrow I get a quote to split it. I also asked them to price out a new transmission just in case. I was such a nice guy. I even gave the manager the JD part number and cost. what I'm not sure is weather the new transmission comes with the pump or not? I told him the original 1 lasted 20 years. I'm expecting the next to last 20 years as well lol . So im hoping and praying 🙏 we may finally get to what's going on inside. I think there afraid I'm going to walk on the new loader I had ordered for it thats waiting to go on it. but that definitely isn't the case. the mechanic did mention that the primary pressure was what it should be to the high pressure pump. a odd 1 was the 6000 psi relief valves are both relieving under dead heading test ( so unless both are bad there should be 6000 psi in there) but at the port they are only getting 1000 psi?? that's all for now.

Ok a monkey wrench in the plan. John deere no longer stocks the LVA11405 hydo transmission for my tractor, according to my dealer. I tried buying 1 threw Weingartz Supply . but when I add shipping method it tosses me out. called them directly, said none was in stock at their facility. but because I was out of state they couldn't try to take my order over the phone. he made is sound like there maybe a few out there somewhere but it was uncertain. So now plan Q lol. dig in , see what's going on and pray we can find parts. 🙏.

What year model is your 4700 E Hydro ?

I had a 2001 4700 & it was 12spd power reverser trans.

I had a 2012 4720 E Hydro that worked GREAT for mowing grass in B range .

I sold both moving up to 5k series tractors in 2015.
