Any ideas what an older CJ7 jeep is rated to tow????

The new 4 door lwb ones aren't bad, just remember your WD hitch. Used to tow with our 2dr sidekick a fair bit, a 2500-3000 lb trailer. Worked ok, at least as good as a small car.

yeh I miss my CJ-5 but I wouldn't want to tow anything over 2000 ibs. with anything that small

5000# is a good load for a Cherokee.
