Any ideas how to cover these edges of my pond liner?

Why not simply laying flat (flag) stones over the protruding liner?
That would also make a nice border finish, and very much like in ground pools.
Perhaps you'd need to level off the edges in order to lay the flat stones but that should not be a major chore.

I had the same problem and loaded stones along the edge. It would have to be pretty steep for them to slide in depending on how soft the soil is under the liner. As someone else stated earlier, it is a lot of work. I only have about 20 yards of coast line to deal with.

Having read through the entire thread here is what I would recommend. Mark the water line around the edge of the pond or set up a good laser for reference height. Lower the water level in the pond to allow enough room to work the edges. Grade this new edge height for the liner flat and five or six feet wide (what ever is needed to hold the liner in place) fold liner over this area and trim to fit. Rock over the liner deep enough to hold it in place. I would use any native rock about 6 inch size for the base layer and cover this with smaller rock and gravel for appearance on top.

Refill pond to the top and stop filling at the edge of the rock. If this is okay I would give it some time to see what happens before any other toppings are added. You could have a flag stone surface, clean sand beach or topsoil with grass working away from the pond.

bdog -- Don't know how you're coming on this project, but just ran across a product that might could help:

Amazon.com : Standartpark 4 inch thick geo grid ground grid polyethylene 1885 LBS per sq ft strength : Patio, Lawn & Garden

If this grid material were used, it could be laid directly on the bank, filled with a combination of gravel (for weight) and dirt/sand (with some appropriate seed mixed in), then it stands to reason that plants would grow and root themselves in fairly well. However, you might also want to consider cutting some holes or slits in the exposed part of the liner so that roots could grow through into the bank material.

Would be nice to hear an update on your progress.
