Any forum settings for auto photo sizing?

Hi all,

With the advent of allowing any size attachment up to 200k, photo sizes are all over the map these days. Some too small to see ....some too large to see without scrolling.

Is there a forum setting somewhere to automatically resize all posted photos to... say.... 800X600?
I use a zoomable browser (Opera) but even that is inconvenient.

Just asking in case I missed something in the settings or if maybe something can easily be done to remedy the situation... or am I the only one that thinks this is an issue?

For those of you who don't know: there are some settings in your browser for auto-resizing photos to fit DOWN to your screen (if they're too big.)​

In IE it's under Internet Options>Advanced Then scroll down to "Multimedia" and click the "Allow Automatic Image Resizing." That will resize big images smaller... I don't know if it will do it for inline images or just those that are in their own window or what. But you can test it. (I believe clicking the image after it's resized will set it back to its full size.)​

In Firefox the feature is turned on by default (on mine) But it's under Options>Advanced and the little checkbox for "Resize Large Images."​

For stuff that's too small? Can't say there is an easy solution to fix that. Sizing them up is going to make them look bad. So I guess this is just half a fix. But I hope it helped.

That should help somewhat. But there is no forum ability to handle that.​

This still requires you do download the entire image. I run some other forum software that does do this and its very nice. You can allow uses who do not have the savy to resize their own images to upload stuff. Then the server automaticly resizes everything to fit 600px wide.
