You must remember that you have a photo.
So what type of backup do you have that a crime was committed.
Your word is really worthless unless there is other very obvious evidence That the picture taken was involved in a crime.

I'm hoping that the word of an honest man with a clean record is still worth something in this country. I didn't do this for any kind of recognition just a reaction to seeing something suspicious. Whether it pans out or not, I can go to bed knowing I tried to do the right thing (Help a neighbor and friend). Maybe someday someone will do it for me.

Please, there is no doubting your observations, but when it comes to court and proving the allegations it becomes another matter altogether.
Your actions are commendable and if everyone followed those in their community it may make the communities better places to live as miscreants soon learn where not to go.

Yeah, I wish. Perhaps our super-high incarceration rate is worth something... or not.

I had a friend a while back who was a narc agent. I was amazed and just how little he had to do to keep his cover. He explained to me that if these guys were smart they wouldn't get into crime in the first place.
