Any feedback on a new GT3100?

My neighbor (who happens to be my Grandfather) decided to trade his 3240 with a 54" deck and 600+ hours on a new GT3100. The dealer needed to order the 54" deck and he won't be taking delivery until later this week.

I begin thinking.....the amount these "garden tractors" cost, does Cub Cadet really make these tractors now or is he just getting something made by MTD? I guess the deal is okay in terms of his trade in, but wow, for a few grand more he could get into a sub-compact!


Does anyone have experience with the GT3100?

Cub Cadet was originally owned by International Harvester but since the early 80's has been owned by MTD. A few of the larger tractors are manufactured by other companies but for all practical purposes, "Cub Cadet IS MTD".

BTW, I'm not knocking MTD and it's products, as I have one sitting next to the NH in the garage.........just looking for feedback on the GT3100.

Not sure why your grandfather would trade in a machine with not that many hours for basically the same machine....if he liked the 3240, he is going to like the 3100. Plenty of posts on this forum with positive feedback.
Cub is the top of the line for MTD by the way...
