Kubota BX2380
I'm about to buy a BX2370 and while chatting with my dealer, he has 3 grapples on the lot and said he'd sell me one for $1,600 with my tractor. I believe he said it was a Landpride grapple, but I haven't looked at them yet because the attachments are in a different lot than the tractors and I just didn't have time to walk back there while I was visiting.

I believe this sounds like a very good price, but was wondering who has used them and what are your thoughts. I have some fence-row I'll be doing a lot of chainsaw work on and figured these would really help with that kind of work.

Thanks in advance!

I have heard that was built for the BX series.

I have a Land Pride grapple - SGC1560. Its a lot heavier than you would want for you BX - 820 lbs. However, Land Pride does make two much smaller grapples that are designed for the BX series - - SGC05 & SGC10. My grapple is heavy duty to the extreme and I use it to move large chunks of tree trunk, back drag plowed land and move large rocks. I have little to no brush on the property so that type use is zero. It functions very well and I've had no difficulties with it what-so-ever.

Do you have the hydraulics valves and plumbing to the front to run it? Get the WHOLE package price.

I had my dealer install a new Landpride SGC05 48" gapple on my new BX25D at time of purchase in December. Installed price for everything was $1875. I couldn't imagine the tractor without the grapple. Job1 was to load 2 medium size trees that I had cut down and into 10' sections into the dump trailer. 30 minutes later (including the learning curve) everything was loaded and ready to go. You won't be sorry with the purchase. Good luck...

I bought one about this time last year. There's a whole long thread or two on here about the new LP grapple for the Kubota BX FEL quick hitch. That price is very good if it includes the grapple, quick hitch (you'll need to be able to switch from FEL to grapple and back quickly), and the third function hydraulics to operate it. And if that includes installation, it's an even better price. I love mine for moving loose brush and logs. I believe it's considered a root grapple but I don't know if I'd be comfortable working it hard in the dirt to remove small roots. Too many large rocks and roots around me to do that with this grapple, but otherwise, it adds a lot of utility to an already flexible small machine.

When I was shopping for a grapple, I considered the Land Pride. I saw one at my dealer when I picked up my quick attached they ordered for me. I ended up with a WR Long OBG2-48 for my B3200. Mine was almost a grand more for the hydraulics, hoses and grapple. I don't know how I did without it.

I'll second everything CHDinCT said plus you can move big thing around. It's best to have the QA as using the "pin on" attachment gets cumbersome.

Thanks guys. I asked about it taking extra hydraulics or what not. I can't remember what exactly he said, but it was something like it has an electric switch valve on it or something that lead me to think that it didn't need anything extra from the normal loader hydraulics. He also mentioned to me about the quick hitch on the loader and it's not like the skid steer style quick hitch on my L3800, but still easier than popping the pins out, so he was already thinking ahead of me.

CHD and Lowell, those are great pics; thanks. John, do you have any pics? I think that will be the same grapple. I'm confused about the 3rd function hydraulics CHD mentioned, and I'll clarify that with my dealer, but he's not the kind of guy to quote me something for just a piece of it. He's a very straight forward guy. I was thinking that since he has 3 on his lot, they probably aren't moving very fast and he's offering me a real deal to move one. He usually doesn't keep a bunch of attachments in different sizes, just usually orders them as needed when you buy your machine.

I also asked him about top and tilt, but Kubota doesn't have that option on the BX. He said I can only get two valves added by them, but that would require three I think. I may just ask him to add the tilt then. That would be very handy for box blade work. The top link on this thing is very easy to move in and out compared to my top link that came with the L3800. Maybe because the box blade is much lighter too, but I was working with the box blade on my brother's BX25D the other day and was amazed at how easy it was to adjust.
