Any bourbon aficionados here?

I prefer my whiskey with an E and from Scotland. A good friend brings over bourbon from time to time and I will indulge him. My favorite that he's brought over is probably Blanton's single barrel at over $150/750ml. One of my favorite scotches is Johnnie Walker Blue Label but it's up to $200 now. That's about a 25% increase in 2 years if I remember correctly. I usually settle for Johnnie Black. I don't care for Johnnie Red, it's too peaty for me. I've tried a few expensive single malt scotches and always end up back to JW blends.

You can spoil even the best bourbons with ice made with crappy water...or by using crappy water...
Bourbon and branch...!
Apparently, we grew up different. Coffee is served black, whiskey is served neat. No need for fancy frills in life 😂

If you can find it, Collections, is producing some very nice stuff with a reasonable price tag. I like the 225 and 15 year old.

CityDude,

My wife and I like our bourbon. Enough that when we travel, we pack a bottle. Sam's club is where we buy our bourbon.

Good bourbon for a great price; Buffalo Trace, 1792, Eligh Craig and Bullet. All under $27

A bit of pure spring branch water actually enhances the flavor of many whiskeys...

My local Binny's has a few of those. They have the 12 Highland but are out of the 15 right now. I will keep it in mind, thanks.

My favorite is cask strength, no ice, no water… just from the barrel to my lips

I've tried all the major brands over the years. I prefer the less sweet ones, so more ryed, less wheated. Or straight rye, like Sazerac. I like scotch too, the more smokey ones. But more often than not, I come home with the handle bottle of blended scotch from Costco.

We don't have a Costco or Sams club close here. All the bourbons you mentioned are the upper $30's here. Still very good bourbons for the price.

I bought a bottle of Eagle Rare a year ago for $70.00 at an out of town store. A year later it was $35.00 but at a different store. Got took on the first transaction. Lol

I'm pleased to hear you like your Whisky but from Scotland it is without an 'E' I am in the UK and am spoiled for choice. You really must try Glenkinchie or Aberlour medium priced but very good. It must also be Single Malt not blended. Enjoy!!!!
