Any 990 owners out there?

Have been eyeing a 990 w/300cx loader and 4WD with just over 400hrs. I currently have a 2520 (2006) and am considering a trade. My tractor has power beyond and mid PTO as well as a block and trans heater which I feel I will really miss. What are your thoughts? I have found very few posts dealing with the 990 and that maybe a good sign.

Wanting to switch from HST to gear?

I will add that HST to the list of things I will miss, and my wife will miss it most as she considers the 2520 HER tractor.

I have one and love it. It is rated as a large compact utility tractor [LCUT] with the 430 model loader and I believe you have the stronger of the 2 loaders available. Take your time with it and let the machine due the work and don't lend it out like I have made the mistake of doing so.

The 990 (later designated as the 4005) is a great tractor if you're OK with a gear transmission
I've had 5 Deere tractors over the last 20some years...with the exception of my current 4052R, all have had gear transmissions and never a problem
