Antique tractor auction

I went to an estate auction today that was a thrill due to all the old tractors. This photo journal is only part of them, as I did not take pics of all the non-restored iron.

Sadly for the estate, but happily for buyers, the prices were low. Examples: Farmalls all went for under $2000 (They had A, M, C, H and another one that I forgot the model). The MH Pony (MINT!) was 2300. The MM twin 100 (MINT) went for 6000, and anything on steel went pathetically cheap, many between $800 and $1300. The restored Case V (MINT) went for just over #Q2000.

The big thresher went for about $120.

I did not have the budget to buy anything, but one day.....

I wish I was so lucky.

The couple times I had the go ahead to have cash in hand at some estate auctions that had tractors for sale, I was absolutely shocked that people would pay so much for an old tractor. Seemed that people get caught up in a bidding war and forget how much something new goes for. Don't know, perhaps they we're gems and were worth something restored to new again, but all I was looking for was something to bush hog with.

By golly I'm suffering from non-buyer's remorse. I got home and the wife said "I'm surprised you didn't buy one...." Here I was trying to be good, and ......:confused2:

Shoot, even IF I didn't buy anything... it would have been worth the trip to see those tractors :thumbsup:
